The Lions Club of Brisbane Inner West
Other projects that Inner West continue to be involved with include: donations for disabled equipment and feeding the needy, fundraising for Lions Hearing Dogs, eyeglass recycling to give people in third-world countries better vision and many other projects.
As our President Ron Welsh has said; “Our club is always looking for new members of all ages to get involved in Lions. We are an enthusiastic but flexible group with a motto which simply says “we do what we can, when we can”. We apply no pressure on our members because we all understand that family and work come first.’’
The club meets fortnightly (1st & 3rd Tuesday nights at 6.30 PM) at the Indooroopilly Bowls Club (Cnr Clarence Rd & Allwood Sts) and members can choose how much they want to be involved in charity work. Visitors are always welcome to attend any of our meetings to see how we operate.
We are currently building our membership so if you are a community minded person, enjoy fun and fellowship and enjoy meeting people, then Lions is for you. Our club also provides volunteers with project management assistance, leadership training, personal development opportunities, and organised fundraising programs.
Lions Club International is the world’s largest service organisation; Today, with over 1.4 million men and women in more than 180 countries, Lions have expanded their focus to help meet the ever increasing needs of our society.

The Lions Club of Brisbane Inner West has celebrated 40 years of serving the Inner West from Kenmore to St Lucia and Toowong to Graceville.
“We may be small in numbers but we are huge in our enthusiasm to serve those in need in our community.”
“Being a member of Lions is not only about giving back to the community; you also feel n immense sense of satisfaction when you are able to help others in need, it’s why we all do it,’’ Ron said.
The Lions Club of Brisbane Inner West is seeking members to get involved in a number of projects to assist others in need.
Projects on the horizon include: helping refugee children adapt to Australian life, assisting elderly people in their homes with small jobs like changing light bulbs and raising funds to support Lions projects.
The Lions Children of Courage presentation is one such project which recognises the wonderful young people in our community who are affected by disability and gives them, and their families, the reward and encouragement they deserve for their courage and determination.
